MORANG: A woman died and her daughter sustained critical injuries when a motorbike hit a scooter they were riding on at Urlabari in Morang district on Tuesday. Police identified the deceased as Kabita Dhimal (40) of Pathari Sanischare in the district. Dhimal breathed her last during the course of treatment at the Araniko Hospital in Urlabari, said Inspector Raj Kumar Rai of the Area Police Office, Urlabari. Police said that the motorbike (Ba 47 Pa 3934) hit the scooter at Urlabari-1 along the East-West Highway at around 11 am. Pillion rider Anisha Dhimal (17), who was critically injured in the incident, is receiving treatment at the Araniko Hospital. Police said that they have impounded the motorbike and arrested its rider for investigation. (Input from Rastriya Samachar Samiti)
